Surfing Possibility: India and Bangladesh's First Surfer Girls

My name is Farhana Huq and I am a surfer here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I wanted to write to you about a really cool project I just launched through Brown Girl Surf.

This November and December, on behalf of Brown Girl Surf, I will be traveling to India and Bangladesh, my parent’s birth countries, to meet women and girls who have taken huge risks against big societal barriers to do the very thing we love to do – surf! I will be working with Storytellers for Good to produce a series of short documentary profiles, photographs and writings on the lives of the first female surfers in a country like Bangladesh, one of the poorest nations in the world.

I put together this Indiegogo campaign together with my friend Cara, from Storytellers for Good. It’s a short video about the project that I hope you’ll watch.  I wanted to ask if you could help spread the word about this project by doing a post on it and/or spreading the word through social media.
