Clare Whitcombe

Clare Whitcombe grew up looking over Auclkand's most consistent wave spot 'Piha' in the Waitakere Rangers in the North Island of New Zealand. Where there is a peaceful connection to nature with many creative artists, musicians and surfers finding sanctuary in the bush covered hills. Clare's 'smooth as yoghurt' jazz has a sweet influence of the wild west coast of NZ.

" I have studied jazz and classical music and everything in between. I have toured extensively throughout Australia with Rock, Reggae, Blues, Folk, Soul and Jazz ensembles. I have composed for film and television, written, arranged and musically directed for many vocalists and solo artists, appeared as a session keys and vocal musician for over 20 albums. And played in South Korea, Germany, The Netherlands and Dubai"

Clare's love of music has taken her on an amazing journey that promises exciting things for her in the future. When asked about the best festival she had ever played Clare reply's, "There was 'Womad' in Adelaide performing along side musicians from every corner of the globe and the last night of the festival was one of the wildest jams I've ever been to but 'Island Vibez' on Stradbroke island, right on the beach! Wow! You don't get much better than that!"
