Following the success of Seeker Lover Keeper's Heavenly Sounds tour, Lisa Mitchell has announced a church and cathedral tour of her very own this June.
"Spiritus means breath in Latin and I've been doing a lot of yoga lately and a lot of breathing; that's the main thing you concentrate on," Mitchell explained of the first single off her long-awaited second album.
"That's sort of one component of the song but I guess it was a bit of a message to my former self. Almost something you wish you told yourself a couple of years ago, which is mainly to have some perspective. There is an epic sun out there and it's all good."
The name Bon Iver is derived from the French phrase bon hiver meaning "good winter" or "have a good winter".
Bon Iver is a folk band founded in 2007 by American indie folk singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. It includes Michael Noyce, Sean Carey, and Matthew McCaughan. Vernon released Bon Iver's debut album, For Emma, Forever Ago independently in July 2007. The majority of that album was recorded while Vernon spent three months in a remote cabin in northwestern Wisconsin. Bon Iver won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album for their self-titled album.
Please meet the beguiling Ms. Lanie Lane.
Her debut album is ‘To The Horses’, a collection of 11 songs that duck and weave through a heady mix of early rock ‘n’ roll, blues, and rockabilly, serving up fantastic tales of love, lust, heartbreak and the importance of a good guitar – all delivered by one of the most undeniably distinctive voices and charming characters in Australian music.
Recorded and mixed over a grand total of four days with her band at a studio in Sydney, the self-produced ‘To The Horses’ showcases Lanie’s irrepressible talent for crafting songs that are as raw and gritty as they are warm and inviting.
