Off to the Byron Bay Sunday markets on a mission to find one particular stall in the rabbit warren of tents, people and food. To hook up with the designer of Surfkini Australia, Alana Martinero. With a name like 'Surfkini Australia' it differently implies that ones designs are made to surf in... So what do you do when you find a product designed for women to surf in? Review it! We exchanged conversation and goods then I headed to the beach to try my Surfkini out.
Review Of Oakley Bikini's & Frogskins

Oakley have been the brand that comes across as the innovators in design with bucket loads of features on their products. Oakley traditionally reads more of a sports brand and not just limited to surf gear. From my perspective Oakley seemed to be marketed towards men with there industrial logo and selection of male ambassadors. So you can understand my surprise when asked to review Oakley swimwear! The women's part of the Oakley site is clean and their logo has been soften slightly with hues of silver.
Mijanou Swimwear

Mijanou is the creation of one womans passion to produce the most fashion forward swimwear label in Australia today. French born Designer, Karen Connell has been the driving force behind such labels as Coco Riche swimwear and the fabulous Juliet in Stilettos. Mijanou emulates Karen's ideals of edgy designs and functionality. Whilst unique and eye catching designs were high on Karen's list, so was an exceptionally high quality garment that not only met clients expectations, but also exceeded them. "Everything I design, I design as if it were a one of a kind for myself".
Mijanou is glamourous, feminine and exclusive. It brings high fashion to the waters edge, whether at the beach or sipping cocktails by the pool.

I have a bikini fetish! With a bikini for everyday of the week and some... I consider myself a bikini lover! So one can understand my excitement when I stumbled across the 'Bikini Lover' collection. Creating beautiful bikinis inspired by the islands, it was great to find a duo doing just that. A mutual love of all things Hawaiiana bought Heidi Bartholomew and Daniella Ciano together to create the Bikini Lover collection, both are veterans of the swimwear and surf industry trade and their lifestyles are inspired by the beach and surfing cultures.
